25 years of ProCurand - a success story
How it all began: Our founder Prof Dr Adolf Theis was President of the University of Tübingen from 1972 to 1995. During this time, he restructured the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and earned it the reputation of an elite university, which it still has today. From the end of the 1990s, he prepared expert reports for competitors in the care market on behalf of banks. The aim was to successfully reorganise clinics and care facilities. The banks had confidence in his expertise and asked him to operate these care facilities himself. This is how, at the age of 66, Prof Dr Adolf Theis and his wife Masako Katagami Theis became the founders of ProCurand - a start-up in the east of Berlin!

Not only since the pandemic have we known that our work is systemically important. The value of what we do is now more recognized than ever before. One thing is unmistakable: humans can never be fully cared for by machines. Empathy cannot be replaced by artificial intelligence. You understand this and live it every single day. Thank you for that, and for making our anniversary celebration an unforgettable experience!
"Joie de vivre knows no age" becomes
"We cultivate joie de vivre"
"Joie de vivre knows no age" was ProCurand's motto for more than two decades. In 2025, we changed it to "We nurture joie de vivre". This new guiding principle contains an important promise: Those who feel joie de vivre themselves can more easily awaken it in others. For us, joie de vivre has many faces: those of our residents, customers and tenants. And, of course, that of our colleagues in the areas of care, support, counselling and quality management, cleaning and kitchen, building services, housekeeping, reception and administration, among others.
To this day, the founding family and all of us at ProCurand are united by a promise: to provide the highest-quality care for the older generation and to create a place where everyone feels comfortable and safe – always in service of people!
Our ProCurand Song - We Nurture The Joy of Living
Ready to sing along? Our ProCurand has its own song! The 25th anniversary of the company and our new motto "We nurture joie de vivre" inspired us. Together with the Berlin singer Thorge, we developed the ProCurand song. A concentrated zest for life - listen for yourself and sing along!
