25 years of ProCurand - a success story
How it all began: Our founder, Prof. Dr. Adolf Theis, was President of the University of Tübingen from 1972 to 1995. During this time, he restructured the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and earned it the reputation of an elite university, which it still holds today. From the late 1990s, he prepared expert reports for competitors in the care market on behalf of banks. The goal was to successfully restructure clinics and care facilities. The banks had confidence in his expertise and asked him to operate these care facilities himself. Thus, at the age of 66, Prof. Dr. Adolf Theis, together with his wife Masako Katagami Theis, founded ProCurand – a startup in East Berlin!

We say thank you to everyone who belongs to the ProCurand family. They are the ones who embody the joy of life every day. They ensure that the residents, clients, and tenants entrusted to us, as well as service providers and visitors, always feel welcome at ProCurand.
We've known we are essential to the system for a long time, not just since the pandemic. The importance of our work is being recognised more than ever before. One thing is undeniable: humans can never be fully cared for by machines. Empathy cannot be replaced by artificial intelligence. You know and live this – day after day. Thank you for this, and for an unforgettable time at our anniversary celebration!
"joy of living knows no age" becomes
"We cultivate joy of living"
"Joy of life knows no age" was ProCurand's motto for more than two decades. In 2025, we changed it to "We cultivate joy of life". This new motto contains an important promise: those who feel joy of life themselves can more easily awaken it in others. Joy of life has many faces here: those of our residents, customers, and tenants. And of course, those of our colleagues from the fields of nursing, care, counselling and quality management, in cleaning and kitchen services, building services, domestic services, reception and administration, among others.
To this day, the founding family and all of us at ProCurand share a promise: to implement the best possible care for the older generation and to create a place where everyone feels comfortable and safe – always in service to people!
Our ProCurand Song - We care for the joy of living
Ready to sing along? Our ProCurand has its own song! The 25th company anniversary and our new motto "We care for the joy of life" have inspired us. Together with Berlin singer Thorge, we have developed the ProCurand song. Concentrated joy of life – listen yourselves and sing along!
