Residents of ProCurand Park Sanssouci senior citizens' residence in Potsdam went on a trip to the Museum Barberini. Accompanied by two members of the care staff, the group attended a guided tour all about the art of Impressionism.
Art and cultural educator Elisabeth Claussen-Greim provided fascinating insights into the era and shared anecdotes about well-known artists and their works. The participants were particularly impressed by the vibrant colours and characteristic painting techniques of artists such as Claude Monet and Édouard Manet.
The joint museum visit not only offered interesting insights into art history, but also a change of pace from everyday life in the retirement home. Art and culture create new impressions, stimulate conversation and provide shared experiences.
