The plan was a lovely trip with the „Karpfenbummler“ to Cottbusser Ostsee, past Teichland to the Karpfenklause in Peitz. There, coffee and cake were to be served. The outing, however, went a bit differently than planned: first, the "Carp Wanderer" arrived about an hour late at the Cottbus retirement home It seems there was a misunderstanding with the route planning. Then it went Late start, but only for a short while! After around 15 minutes, the vehicle stopped, allegedly due to engine overheating. The directive was then: stay calm and act like professionals! Someone from the team secured the street, while facility manager Daniela Landsberg and Monika Schröter from administration led the residents to the pavement and into safety. After about 20 minutes, the transport service had organised a replacement bus, which brought our Cottbus residents back to the retirement home. There, the team quickly conjured up an alternative: they set tables, prepared coffee, and served ice cream sundaes in the air-conditioned dining room. So this outing ended differently than expected, but in good spirits!
