Politics meets Care - Citizens' Advice Hour in Dahme/Mark: Erik Stohn, SPD, recently visited, together with ProCurand's political expert Lars Düsterhöft, theAm Schlosspark retirement home in Dahme/Mark. Over coffee, residents and the team were able to ask the two politicians questions about anything that was close to their hearts. One of the topics discussed was the poor accessibility of the site by public transport, which is currently the biggest problem. "Getting to work on time is a real challenge," says facility manager Jacqueline Werner. "It's particularly difficult for our trainees." Improving the connection so that Dahme is reasonably accessible is the most important concern for politicians. "We also discussed the rising costs of care. These should not be unilaterally passed on to the residents. It was important for us to draw Erik Stohn's attention to the current legal situation and to campaign for a reform of care insurance," reports Lars Düsterhöft. To summarise: it was a stimulating conversation, although both the facility manager and the member of state parliament are currently recovering from a fall or car accident.
