Palm bush tradition at ProCurand Nursing home Pfarrer Lukas "Beautiful palm bushes were bound by many busy hands and consecrated by the vicar in the in-house service," explains Nicole Roith, Head of Social Care, "a heartfelt thank you for that to Vicar Amberger!‘ On Palm Sunday, each resident then received a consecrated palm bush, along with a traditional saying. Everyone was very happy. Some wanted to hang it up in their room straight away or have it hung up. The residents talked all sorts about the palm bush tradition: For example, farmers used to put the consecrated palm bush in the field for a rich harvest. "One resident remembered that, in her childhood, families would walk around the house three times with the consecrated palm bush. This protected everyone in the household from fire, thunderstorms and illnesses," reports Nicole Roith. It's wonderful that traditions are being kept alive, thank you!
