The Knappnesia, a local carnival club with over 80 active members, has been coming to the ProCurand centre with a delegation for years a few weeks before the official carnival. Senior Citizens Centre Am Herzogschloss. This time, around 40 dancers performed. The Bambini-Garde danced and delighted the audience and the Junioren-Garde also wowed the residents with a show dance. It is a fine tradition for the Knappnesia to award four to five medals every year. "We decide in advance who will receive a medal. For example, the youngest or oldest resident. Or the newest arrival and the resident who has been with us the longest. Colleagues are also always involved," says Sonia Haubelt, Head of Social Services, who was once awarded a medal many years ago. The Prince and Princess handed out the medals and rewarded the recipients with a kiss. Karl Birner, who was celebrating his 86th birthday, was particularly pleased with the lovely birthday surprise and then proudly told everyone on the ward that he had received a medal. Other medals went to Anton Gradl, Chairman of the Residents' Council, Nadine Meiser (dressed as a nun), who has been working in social care for 13 years, Ingrid Denninger (as a pirate) and Doris Oder (as a witch), both new members of the social care team.
