First palliative care workshop in Sulzbach-Rosenberg

You never stop learning! That's why the employees from the ProCurand Senior Centre Am Herzogsschloss recently organised its very first „Palliative Care“ workshop. The workshop is part of a new concept of the same name developed by Quality Officer Petra Grosser. In future, it will take place regularly with changing topics so that the nursing and care team can continue their training. To kick things off, the participants learnt about the following topics: Oral and aromatherapy care, care and support for relatives. They also learnt what to do if patients refuse to eat or drink and how to recognise pain more quickly and effectively. After the workshop, the feedback from the participants was clear: „We want another great workshop like this! We learnt so much today and refreshed our existing knowledge!“ says an enthusiastic Silvia Schmarander, Head of Nursing. She would like to thank Sonia Haubelt from Social Services and all the lecturers involved for organising the workshop so well under the direction of Carina Hoch.
