The maypole is up and May can come in Lam! The building services team erected the maypole in front of the ProCurand St Ulrich nursing home that is Bavarian tradition. „To this day, the maypole has stood the test of time as a symbol of spring and May celebrations and is intended to indicate that the fertile time of the year has begun. Our residents have known this from an early age and always look forward to it,“ reports Nicole Marchl, Centre Manager.
After the maypole had been erected, May was celebrated with coffee and cake in fantastic weather (even though it was still April). The children's dance group from the Lohberg traditional costume association performed several traditional folk dances for our residents. The young Schuhplattler from the Trachtenverein Lohberg also demonstrated their skills. Everyone loved it and they received a lot of applause. To round off the day, Leberkäs with pretzels and beer was served and everyone agreed: it was a lovely afternoon on the Main in April!
