In sunny spring weather, some of the tenants of ProCurand Bölschestraße senior citizens' residence to the Mümmelmann farm in Petershagen, which is idyllically situated in the middle of flowering meadows. The farm is home to numerous animals: sheep, chickens, ducks, guinea pigs and rabbits. "We were all amazed by the variety of animals. The older gentlemen remembered their own childhood in the countryside and there was a touch of nostalgia in the air as they stroked and fed the animals," says Denise Grytzka from Social Services, adding that the absolute highlight was the alpacas. These gentle animals with their big, curious eyes mesmerised everyone. All the senior citizens visibly enjoyed feeding the alpacas and watching them carefully and gently accept the treats they were given. Everyone also really enjoyed the barefoot trail. Couple Rita and Bernd Hütte bravely ventured ahead. They took off their shoes to feel the different surfaces under their bare feet. The path is designed to stimulate the senses: soft grass, cool water, warm sand and smooth stones.conclusion: The day at Mümmelmann farm was a welcome change from everyday life. Meeting the animals and experiencing nature on the barefoot path was great fun for everyone and re-energised them. Thank you to the Bölschestraße team for this wonderful idea!
