In the ProCurand Senior citizens' residence Am Straussee recently centred around the potato, also known as Erdapfel, Tüften or Kartüffel. Delicious potato pancakes were prepared and cooked together. The residents helped diligently with the potato peeling. A fun competition was organised: Who could peel the longest? Resident Christa won by a wide margin, congratulations! After the dough was stirred together in the kitchen, Sebastian Rohrmann from the social care team took to the pan and baked well over 100 potato pancakes. "But the most difficult task was definitely for our residents, because it wasn't easy at all to eat the crispy potato pancakes and apple sauce," says Janin Tiedemann, facility manager, with a laugh. She didn't miss the opportunity to hand out the delicacies herself. Some of them tasted so good that they compared the size of the pancakes with those on their neighbour's plate. The general verdict was: "Tastes like mum's, even waiting for the next pancake was just like before! Many a positive memory was awakened, great!
