Strausberg day care excursion to the Gardens of the World

14.06.2024

The team of the Day care Strausberg recently took a trip to the Gardens of the World with 14 guests and one accompanying person. "Thanks to the DRK, which provided us with two cars including a driver at a fair price, we were also able to enable our wheelchair users to take part," says care service manager Nadine Fügemann. The day guests were delighted. In the Welte Gardens, the Strausberg group started in the Balinese Garden, visited the tropical house and the beautifully laid out Korean and Japanese gardens full of exotic plants and flowers. Everyone literally soaked up the impressions and many took photos to collect memories to keep for later. "The time flew by and only the growling of our stomachs prompted us to take a break," says Nadine Fügemann with a laugh. At the snack bar near the rose garden, everyone had a good portion of potato salad with bockwurst sausage. Well-fuelled, they then admired the rose garden, which had a beguiling scent. Fortunately, the people of Strausberg were prepared for all weathers and the rain shower in the afternoon couldn't spoil their good mood! "We still haven't seen everything and will definitely have to come back again," was the unanimous verdict of the day guests. It was a successful excursion with great photos that are now hanging on the day care centre's photo wall and have been given a special place in the centre's photo album.
