Alpacas visit Drosselweg in Strausberg

01.07.2024

Four travelling alpacas recently paid a visit to ProCurand for the first time. Senior citizens' residence Am Straussee. Pepper, Cookie, Djego and Quinci did their best to sneak into the hearts of our residents (which they succeeded in doing!). Curious and „hungry“, they approached everyone and let themselves be petted, caressed and, of course, fed. „This is despite the fact that alpacas generally don't really like being petted. They make it clear to you when they don't want something. We therefore appreciated it all the more that they allowed themselves to be petted,“ reports facility manager Janin Tiedemann. However, the four of them are not to visit again until their fleece has regrown, as they had been freshly shorn and some people missed the fluffy fleece feel when petting them. The fleece from the shearing had been brought along by the owners from Lebenshilfe Oderspree in a bag as a substitute for touching. It was an afternoon for the heart and for the senses, truly wonderful!
