Inauguration of the care cabinet in Halle

In the ProCurand Senior citizens' residence Am Hufeisensee the new nursing cabinet was recently inaugurated. In the training room set up as a nursing room, trainees at the facility can acquire practical nursing skills in basic and treatment care. In future, they will practise on our care doll Sascha (male/female) in a protected setting. At the beginning of August, seven new ambitious trainees were given a warm welcome at a kick-off event in Halle. Six of them want to become carers and one has set herself the next goal of becoming a qualified nursing assistant. "Our trainees come from countries including Guinea, Cameroon, Madagascar and Rwanda. One special story is that there are three sisters from India, two of whom are twins," says Ute Knauth, head of the facility. Three trainees have already worked at the senior citizens„ residence as federal volunteers. One had previously completed his training as a qualified care assistant and then worked as a care assistant at the facility for a year. With the new additions, there are currently 14 trainees (11 carers and 3 care assistants) in Halle, a remarkable number! In the coming weeks, new federal volunteers will also be arriving at the facility in Halle Büschdorf, who will then also learn simple nursing skills in the care cabinet. To celebrate the day, the entire team was invited to a “staff munch". This is a regular event where everyone gets together for lunch. The kitchen crew then prepares various tasty treats - a great idea, dear colleagues!
