42! Strausberg senior citizens (including 10 residents from the ProCurand retirement home Am Straussee, the other tenants from the Service-Living Wriezener Straße) went on a steamboat trip together. Stefanie Duspiva, deputy house manager at Wriezener Straße, took everyone on the BundStift school bus from Strausberg to Bad Saarow. The journey took an hour and a half. The Strausberg school cooperates with the BundStift School in the "Young meets old" programme, which takes place every Wednesday. This time, however, no pupils came along. In Bad Saarow, Mandy Hegert, head of nursing services at Ambulante Pflege Strausberg, came along and supported Stefanie Duspiva. Thank you for your great support! The four-hour trip started in the harbour of Bad Saarow. The group first sailed across the Scharmützelsee, then had to pass through a lock to reach the Storkower See. We had a delicious lunch: Matjes with boiled potatoes and salad. In the afternoon, everyone was spoilt with cake or ice-cream sundaes and cool drinks, and there was a stop at Hubertushöhe Castle, where everyone had a look at the castle or strolled through the large picturesque park with its old trees and fragrant meadows. Then it was back to the harbour. "Everyone had a lot of fun, we laughed and talked a lot. On the return journey in the bus, everyone was exhausted but satisfied with the wonderful day," reports Stefanie Duspiva. Great trip, dear colleagues!
