Bölschestraße trip to the planetarium

09.09.2024

A long-planned excursion with the tenants of ProCurand Bölschestraße senior citizens' residence finally took place: Together we went to the Zeiss-Großplanetarium in Prenzlauer Berg. For some, it was the first time they had visited a planetarium - the anticipation was correspondingly great. The architecture, especially the dome, impressed everyone. When the lights went out and the artificial night sky lit up, the Friedrichshageners watched the „Legends of the Night Sky“ show spellbound. The impressive 360-degree projection centred on astronomy, past times and cultures. Visitors also learnt a lot about the myths and legends surrounding the constellations. The projections were so realistic and detailed that everyone felt like they were actually sitting under a starry sky. Some were reminded of nights in their childhood when they had watched the starry sky. „After the performance, everyone sat together for a while and talked about what they had experienced. We laughed, marvelled and philosophised - and it quickly became clear that this excursion would leave a lasting impression,“ reports Denise Grytzka from Social Services. Some tenants even expressed the wish to come back again to see more performances. At the end of the day, everyone returned to the centre satisfied with many new impressions. And if we know our Bölschestraße team, they are already planning their next trip to the infinite expanses of space or to another fascinating place!
