Cello concert in Sulzbach-Rosenberg

09.09.2024

At ProCurand Senior Citizens' Centre Am Herzogschloss a cello trio from the Bavarian Symphony Orchestra of Bavarian Radio recently gave a classical music concert. To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the symphony orchestra, a concert was raffled off and the residents of Sulzbach won! The three cellists played for an hour. 35 residents listened attentively. All the residents enjoyed the concert very much, which they showed the cello trio by applauding. Afterwards, the musicians gave away CDs of the symphony orchestra to those interested and took the time to talk about music and instruments. „It was something completely different. We usually associate music with folk music rather than classical music. It was a great experience for the musicians to play in a small group especially for senior citizens. They emphasised that. So it was a successful experience for both sides,“ reports Sonia Haubelt, Head of Social Services. It's just a shame that the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra doesn't normally give concerts like this!
