Spree trip of the Grebser

14.10.2024

Recently, seven residents of the ProCurand Senior citizens' residence Am Görnsee together with three day-to-day carers and in-house technician Percy Assmann went on a trip to the Spreewald. They travelled in the facility's bus and a car, taking just under two hours. A provider of barrier-free boat trips has recently opened in Lübben.

The group took a round trip through the unique lagoon landscape on a barge specially built for wheelchairs. The tour lasted around 1.5 hours. There were stops along the way for bockwurst and a cool drink, and after the tour everyone tucked into Spreewald fish sandwiches and pickles.

„For most of them it was their first time in the Spreewald, the weather was marvellous and the gratitude was great. There were many kind words for us. Even though some had already forgotten about the tour the next day, the moment alone counts for us,“ says Juliane Rogazewski, head of the centre.
