Recently, the residents of the ProCurand Senior citizens' residence Am Krökentor an excursion to Magdeburg Cathedral. On four separate days, 10 residents from the residential care facility participated, ensuring everyone who was interested could join. Madleen Rieke, head of the Social Care team, planned and organised the excursion, supported by Sieglinde Melles-Milz. Uwe Möser, Julia Hanke, Jens Wittkowski, and Nicole Böttcher from the Daily Living Support team were also present during the trips. At 9:30 am, the groups set off for Magdeburg Cathedral. Together, they toured the oldest Gothic cathedral on German soil, which is also the burial church of the first German Emperor Otto the Great and his consort Edith. The residents were very interested, and some reminisced about previous visits. However, many did not remember the cathedral being as grand as it was! „Many of the residents no longer have the opportunity to leave the facility on their own, and they all thoroughly enjoyed it,“ says Madleen Rieke.
