In the ProCurand Havelpalais retirement home was recently visited by Parliamentary State Secretary Sabine Dittmar (SPD). ProCurand has already had high-ranking visitors at many locations. Even the Federal Chancellor sent a video message to mark the 25th anniversary. Unfortunately, one person who did not make it to the anniversary despite being invited was Mrs Dittmar, who now made up for it and was a guest in Potsdam. Together with Karl Lauterbach, she is responsible for the federal government's care policy, among other things.
It was important to ProCurand to address the most pressing problems. Lars Düsterhöft, ProCurand's political representative, explained to Sabine Dittmar how challenging it is to employ increasingly expensive leased staff. There is an urgent need to regulate temporary work in the care sector so that more and more facilities do not reach the limits of their possibilities. The problems with recognising the qualifications of international staff were also addressed. The new legal provisions could cause delays that are annoying, stressful and unnecessary for everyone.
Last but not least, the current social debate surrounding asylum and migration policy was addressed. It became clear that this debate frightens international workers and fuels further resentment. However, society and ProCurand depend on their international nursing staff. "We emphasised the opportunities and the impressive success stories of our international colleagues," says Lars Düsterhöft. This is because ProCurand sees diversity in terms of origin or faith as an opportunity for coexistence and stronger cohesion.
