In the ProCurand Havelpalais retirement home A fashion show followed by a sale of outerwear, underwear, jackets, bags, socks, nightwear and underwear recently took place at the „Modemobil“. Claus Buchholz and his wife from „Modemobil - Mode, die zu Ihnen kommt“ have been visiting senior citizens' centres, church districts, day care centres, retirement homes and facilities for the disabled for 30 years. The couple took current fashion with them, which is not exactly cheap, but high-quality, chic and well-made. The idea behind this is to offer older people a comfortable shopping experience in their familiar surroundings. Under the motto "Fashion is not a question of age", there was a fashion show hosted by Claus Buchholz. Three residents, one resident and Birgit Pohlmann from reception each presented two outfits. One model sat in a wheelchair, another modelled with a walking stick, the third with a rollator - all of them did it with great enthusiasm and very professionally. They rightly earned a lot of applause!
The clothes were then sold, and Mr and Mrs Buchholz from Modemobil lovingly and patiently gave advice on the selection and the right sizes. Some residents were interested in how the fabrics felt and were allowed to touch everything. Those who wanted to could also try on the garments. Relatives were informed in advance by post so that the social care team could also shop for residents whose relatives or carers did not have time or were unable to come down. „Thanks to the event, a number of our residents finally had the experience of being able to shop independently again. It was very well received. That's why we'll definitely be inviting the two from Modemobil back again in the spring!“ reports Marika Große, Team Leader Social Care.
