A different kind of St Nicholas in Cham

05.12.2024

This year, St Nicholas' Day was celebrated at the ProCurand Nursing home Pfarrer Lukas celebrated in a special way. Instead of the traditional angel and Father Christmas, the dedicated team surprised the residents with two ponies! These had already proved very popular in the summer, which is why the team decided to organise the visit from Santa in a different way. St Nicholas was quickly replaced by the fluffy animals.

With a festive atmosphere of stollen, biscuits, punch and Christmas music, the atmosphere quickly became relaxed. But the real stars of the day were the ponies, who quickly attracted everyone's attention with their friendliness and calmness. Everyone wanted to stroke the ponies, and some residents even took them for a ride.

At the end, the residents received a sweet Santa's bag. „The best thing was seeing the residents„ happy faces. One resident told me the next day that she immediately went to her room and called her relatives to tell them about the great experiences she had at “Ponynikolaus“," says Nicole Roith, Head of Social Care.
