Love is in the air at ProCurand Senior Citizens' Centre Am Herzogschloss! On his 74th birthday, resident Detlef decided to propose to his beloved Marianne (81), also a resident of the facility! The two met and fell in love there. „It's really nice to see Detlef getting his Marianne coffee and asking whether the cup is filled properly for her or whether she would like a little more coffee - he carries her on his hands!“ says care service manager Silvia Schmarander.
When Detlef got down on one knee in front of Marianne and asked her to marry him, she immediately said „Yes!“. Home manager Martin J. Preuss immediately agreed to organise the wedding ceremony. However, the two lovers are reluctant to tell exactly how they got together. „A gentleman enjoys and keeps quiet!“ says Detlef with a laugh. „When asked whether a move to a double room was on the cards, Marianne replied: “No, one bed is enough for us!" and laughed, reports Silvia Schmarander.
Everyone at the centre wishes the couple all the best and is looking forward to the wedding bells ringing soon. Many join us in wishing Detlef and Marianne many happy hours together!
