The ProCurand Senior Citizens' Centre Am Herzogschloss was recently transformed into a stage: the Palatina theatre group performed and delighted the residents with their sketches. Seven actors, a director and a sound engineer visited the facility and put together a varied programme. The cafeteria quickly filled up and all the residents waited eagerly for the performance.
The first sketch: A granddaughter talks too much during a family visit and tells her great-aunt that she has „a bird“. Sketch number 2: A man asks a genie for a bridge to Hawaii, but the answer turns out to be quite different from what he expected. We continued with the next sketch: An elderly gentleman wants to have a typewriter repaired, but is given a computer by an unsuspecting young salesman. And finally, sketch number 4: A married couple want to plan their dream child in a clinic, but they both get a big surprise. There was something for everyone.
The atmosphere was exuberant. „The residents laughed a lot and applauded loudly,“ says social services manager Sonia Haubelt.
