On your marks, get set, go: In the ProCurand Havelpalais retirement home ProCurand's spring games took place recently. In the garden of the residence, the team had set up a small sports course with four creative stations around the old plane tree, where the senior citizens could show off their sporting skills. After the starting whistle, it was time to go. Everyone ran through each station.
At the first station, children were able to practise throwing long distances with small bags. Aiming accuracy and momentum were required here. Station number 2 was called winding up ducks - small bathing ducks had to be caught on a string with skill and speed. Then it was time to shoot goals: With soft balls, the accuracy could be put to the test. At the fourth and final station, dexterity was required - small pieces of laundry had to be attached to a line with clothes pegs as quickly as possible. The items were skilfully draped on the line.
After completing all the stations, there was a reward for all participants at the finish line: Everyone received a medal and a certificate with their name on it for their efforts. The support team provided refreshments with drinks and fresh fruit.
„It was wonderful to see how much joy and commitment our residents showed,“ says Marika Große, head of care, enthusiastically.
