The ProCurand Park Sanssouci senior citizens' residence from Potsdam was transformed into a nostalgic film set by borrowing decorative elements from the Babelsberg film studios, in keeping with the theme of the summer party: the 50s and 60s! The nostalgic jukebox and the bar cabinet were real highlights, but the vendor's tray for handing out ice cream was also very popular. Old records were hung up and photo walls with the typical cars of the time were an invitation to reminisce. Some colleagues appeared in the typical dress style with petticoats or in dotted and striped dresses - very smart! Musician Dirk Jüttner played well-known pop and rock'n'roll hits, creating an exuberant atmosphere among the residents. But the absolute highlight was the half-playback performance by the care and reception team. They performed well-known popular hits such as „Die Zuckerpuppe aus der Bauchtanzgruppe“ and „Liebeskummer lohnt sich nicht, my Darling“ and encouraged everyone to sing, dance and sway along.
The party also left nothing to be desired in culinary terms: Specialities from the 1950s were served, such as the „cold dog“ biscuit cake. This was accompanied by eggnog from waffle cups, punch, martinis, ice cream and popcorn from the popcorn machine - really retro and super tasty!
„Despite the changeable weather, it was an all-round successful afternoon,“ says Head of Nursing Manuela Grund. „It was so nice to see how much fun the residents had.“
