Community, enjoyment, and good spirits – despite the rain! In the ProCurand Eberswalde senior citizens' residence The team celebrated the annual summer festival with residents and tenants, a highlight in the yearly calendar! The festival was opened by our managing director Tanja Monski, who warmly welcomed everyone present – residents, relatives, guests, and staff. She thanked the entire team for their dedicated preparation and wished everyone a cheerful and sociable get-together. Head of Nursing Nicole Vormum also addressed the audience with a few personal words and encouraged everyone with the words:
„Even though the weather isn't on our side today – we won't let it spoil our spirits!“ And the local mayor of Lichterfelde, Matthias Gabriel, emphasised in his welcoming address the importance of our establishment for Schorfheide. He also pledged continued support whenever it is needed. Catering was provided in abundance: The maintenance technician took care of fresh sausages, patties, and potato salad on the barbecue, while the kitchen served delicious homemade cake. A soft-serve ice cream stand completed the culinary offerings. And there were refreshing non-alcoholic cocktails, real eye-catchers with taste!
A highlight of the afternoon was a visit from some alpacas, who could not only be petted in the garden but also visited residents in their rooms. This delighted those who were unable to join in the celebrations outdoors for health reasons.
The local nursery visited the establishment and brought great joy to everyone with a lovingly staged theatre performance. Another highlight was the performance of two ladies with violins. There was singing, swaying, and laughter, a moving moment for many.
The younger guests were also catered for: a large bouncy castle, provided by the Lichterfelde Volunteer Fire Brigade, ensured exuberant joy.
Conclusion: Despite the changeable weather, the summer festival was a complete success and a fine example of the living together of young and old in the facility.
