Musical Sulzbach-Rosenberg

22.01.2024

Every Tuesday in the cafeteria of the ProCurand Senior Citizens' Centre Am Herzogschloss a singing group takes place in Sulzbach-Rosenberg. The residents sing old folk songs such as „Kornblumenblau“ or „Kein schöner Land“ and well-known hits from the 1920s such as „Lilly Marleen“ together. Sylvia Stahl, geronto specialist, and Nadine Meier from social care are in charge. As so many residents want to take part, space is tight even in the cafeteria. However, everyone likes to move a little closer together because singing together is simply good for you and great fun!

Another great activity is drumming together every Monday afternoon. Christa Schwendner from the social care team brought her hobby to the centre years ago. Between 10 and 15 residents are active in the drumming group. They drum to well-known folk songs with a good beat, such as „Die lustigen Holzhackerbouam“. It's great fun for everyone! „Hopefully Christa Schwendner will stay with us a little longer, she wanted to retire but now works a few hours a week with us. We're very happy about that,“ says Sonia Haubelt, Head of Social Services. If that's not worth a drum roll, thank you dear colleague!
