United in movement: the ProCurand centre recently Bölschestraße senior citizens' residence a kind of „Olympics“ took place. Around 58 residents of varying fitness levels, some with cognitive impairments, took part in the sporty parkour. Four challenging stations had to be mastered, with balls thrown into buckets, dice knocked over and accurate shooting. All the participants pushed themselves and had fun. There was much laughter and good humour. The solidarity of the residents was palpable. „Thanks to the careful planning and empathetic support of the carers and student interns, everyone had a sense of achievement. The Olympics are also an example of successful inclusion. We strive to create unforgettable moments in the lives of our senior citizens and we succeeded,“ reports Denise Grytzka, Social Services, concluding that sporting activity promotes health, strengthens emotional well-being and brings people together.
