Spring at last! It was a bright sunny day in the protected area for the residents with dementia at ProCurand Bölschestraße senior citizens' residence. Early in the morning, warm rays of sunshine shining through the windows lured them outside. After a leisurely breakfast, the day's activities began under the loving guidance of Petra Schütze, a dedicated carer, and the empathetic nursing staff. Some residents looked forward to playing games outside in the garden, while others discovered horticultural and creative talents when designing raised beds. They enjoyed digging their hands into the soil and planting colourful flowers and fragrant herbs. For some, being outdoors and feeling the warm sun on their skin was also enough. They sat together on comfortable garden furniture, swapped stories from times gone by and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. „Life in our community is characterised by appreciation and self-determination. Every day, our teams work to ensure that every resident receives the best possible support and care so that they can enjoy their lives to the full. They create an environment in which residents feel safe and secure and in which their individuality is respected,“ reports Denise Gryzka from Social Services.
