Carriage ride through Lam

14.10.2024

The ProCurand team St Ulrich nursing home organised a carriage ride for the residents again this year. Coachman Hannes Obermeier, who everyone just calls Hannes the coachman, and his two 23-year-old horses, Max and Lucki, drove them for two hours through Lam and the surrounding area. Eight residents took part, accompanied by geronto specialist Jana Lehmann, care manager Jan Schneeberger and care assistant Anita Rouge. Coachman Hannes told funny stories about his horses and reported on news from Lam. The residents showed each other their homes, their primary school and the homes of relatives.

One or two acquaintances also crossed their path, then coachman Hannes stopped at the side of the road for a little chat. It was particularly touching when a former relative stopped the carriage because he was so happy to see the residents again - as most of them were wearing ProCurand caps, he had recognised them from afar. „Our residents are still talking about the trip weeks later and would love to go again. Coachman Hannes said that the atmosphere in the centre was so good that he would move in immediately if he could take the horses with him,“ says facility manager Nicole Marchl with a laugh. It was an all-round successful outing!
