„Tidied up everything and done something good in the process!“ was the motto at ProCurand recently Eberswalde senior citizens' residence in Schorfheide. Facility manager Stefan Thieme and his team tidied up the warehouse. Old stocks from the coronavirus era were sorted out, as well as current materials that were no longer needed. The result was an impressive amount: 30 litres of disinfectant, 15 litres of cleaning agent concentrate, 23 boxes of disposable face masks (approx. 41,000 pieces), 10 boxes of FFP face masks (approx. 10,000 pieces), 9 boxes of bonnets (approx. 21,800 pieces), 11 boxes of yellow gowns (approx. 1,100 pieces) and 30 boxes of blue gowns (approx. 3,100 pieces).
In-house technician Maik König and the boss himself sacrificed their Sunday off and Matthias Hejosch from the Hotum Hilft organisation came to Schorfheide with a lorry. Together they loaded the „mountain of donations“. The donations are currently being temporarily stored and will be transported to Ukraine in June, where they will be distributed to children's aid organisations and animal shelters. Holtum Hilft is an organisation made up of volunteers. It was founded by Beata and Matthias Hejosch immediately after the outbreak of war in 2022 to provide humanitarian aid in Ukraine. Helping animals is particularly close to their hearts. „I'm delighted that things are now in order in Eberswalde. The fact that we were also able to do something good is of course all the better,“ says facility manager Stefan Thieme.
