Recently, there was a very special reading at ProCurand Bölschestraße senior citizens' residenceDenise Grytzka from Social Services read from her book about the Way of St James, the famous „Camino Francés“, which she walked with her husband in 30 days.
Denise Grytzka has been an integral part of Bölschestraße since 2013 and is passionately committed to the residents and tenants. That's why there was so much interest when she wanted to talk about such a personal journey. „Denise Grytzka responded lovingly to each individual and chose her words in such a way that everyone could follow her. It was almost as if we had been on the Way of St James ourselves,“ says Stefanie Böhnke, head of the centre. Everyone listened attentively to the stories of encounters with people from all over the world, of quiet landscapes and of the strength it takes to keep going, step by step. Some of the stories made the audience smile, others were thought-provoking. Many of the listeners recalled their own journeys or moments when they were travelling themselves. Everyone agreed that it was a very enjoyable and interesting afternoon.
On 12 October 2025, the exhibition „Wir sind dann mal weg - 30 Etappen, 30 Bilder“ by Denise and Sebastian Grytzka will open in the Vier Jahreszeiten restaurant in the Bölschestraße senior citizens' residence. There will also be further readings.
