In the communal room, festively lit up with hundreds of lights, the tenants of the ProCurand Cottbus retirement home Christmas. With homemade Stollen and other pastries, they listened to Christmas carols and poems performed by the singer Cornelia Schubert. She was formerly an opera singer at the Cottbus State Theatre, and everyone was enthralled by her beautiful voice! Afterwards, there was mulled wine, which gave some people rosy cheeks, and a delicious chicken fricassee for supper.
All tenants received thoughtful gifts: each person got a large magnifying glass and a telescopic back scratcher, a small fairy light chain, and something sweet. The joy was immense, and everyone agreed that this was once again a truly successful Christmas celebration!
