Elsbeth and Werner Schimetzek have been happily married for an incredible 70 years! If that's not a reason to celebrate, then the couple, who lived in the ProCurand Residence Am Hallorenring live, extensively. A grace wedding (also known as a platinum wedding) is extremely rare. There are only around 140 other couples in Germany who have been married since 1956. And they have done so in perfect harmony - according to Werner Schimetzek, there have never really been any arguments between them.
Residence manager Melanie End presented them with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and best wishes for many more years together! There was delicious raspberry cake, coffee, sparkling wine and beer and the couple celebrated their wedding anniversary with their closest neighbours.
